Hi,
coming from DNS 10, I upgradet to DPI 14.
However, I experience a latency in recognition compared to DNS 10. The recognition is just not as responsive as it was with DNS 10. I experience that especially when I dictate a long string of letters in "command and spelling" mode - which I do a lot, i. e. for programming (I'm a web developer) or typing English texts (I use Dragon in German).
With DNS10, I always get an immediate response to the dictation, no matter how many letters I dictate in one go: as soon as I stop dictating, the text is on the screen. With DPI 14, I have to wait until the recognition is finished, which can sometimes take up to several seconds. That doesn't sound too bad, but believe me, when you are used to spelling very fast, that can be very annoying.
I noticed that latency is also a bit worse with commands, but that's only a matter of half a second or so.
This seems to be an issue of the German version.
I have the suspicion, that the reason behind the issue is that there are a lot more ways to do the spelling now. I come from DNS 10, where you could basically use only the German radio alphabet. With newer versions, you can also use the NATO alphabet and say things like "weh" to get a w, or even "w wie Wilhelm". With all these possibilities, there is a more to process, I guess.
In DNS 10 I always used the spelling mode to speed things up, but that is useless in newer versions.
