While dictating, the first letter of words are sometimes left off. Secondly, when speaking naturally a full sentence, two words will be combined into one word. I have reinstalled the software with no success. I have repaired the software with no success. I am on version 12.5. I purchased version 13 but uninstalled it not liking what the enhancements were, such as no longer having certain key commands. Version 12.5 works flawlessly except for this problem which only recently started to occur. I have been a user for over 10 years. I have two identical laptops that are a mirror image thanks to backups on ShareSync. My primary computer first started this problem a few months ago, so I switched over to my secondary computer where the software worked very well. Yesterday, I had to free up some disk space, which are now told is more than adequate to run, but no luck after doing a repair today. Any suggestions short of going out and buying a new laptop with greater capacity, which I would question.

I am using Dragon in a medical software program (SIMMS). About half the time, Dragon does not leave two spaces after the period (even though that feature is turned on). I cannot use the dictation box inside this SIMMS platform (not sure why, the audio will not play). Any thoughts?

I see a number of other comments regarding various incompatibilities with Chrome; I think my Dragon 13 Home has begun causing the dreaded Black Screen of Death on Chrome. Win 10, latest version of Chrome. If I merely open Dragon, then open Chrome, Chrome consistently shows the black screen. Close Dragon, close Chrome, and Chrome opens normally. What to do, besides going over to Firefox?

I'm building a new profile. I answer all of the preliminary questions and then come to the section where I read into my microphone so that Nuance can make adjustments for my voice, etc. I get through that but then the information gathered (I presume) is added to some database somewhere. About a third of the way through I get this message and the program shuts down:
The speech engine returned the following error: 175
I have tried numerous different pieces of hardware and the result is the same, so its obviously something on my end, Does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be?

Dragon NaturallySpeaking worked fine yesterday, but won’t open today. When I open it, I get this message:
“Dragon has encountered an error and may become unstable. Please save your work, close NaturallySpeaking by choosing Profile-> Close DragonBar and Restart NaturallySpeaking.
SDAPI Error 1: Error: [s:\mrec18\12965\src\fileutil\realdf.cpp 3048 fileutil\realdf 1] SDApi_GetFileSupportType: C:\ProgramData\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking11\Users\John\current\General_\general.voc”
When I go to Profile, the option I have is NOT “Close DragonBar”. It is “Exit Dragon”. Regardless of how I exit Dragon, I get the same message every time I start Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I tried rebooting my computer and got the same results. I have Dragon Premium version 11.

I uninstalled Dragon NS from WIndows8 but my MS Word (2003) is still looking for dgnword.dll. Does anyone know how to deal with this?
Cleaner 13 solved the problem. The forum doesn't let me delete the message. Nuance should stay away from MS Word, or set it as an option.

Voice recognition: I use voice recognition almost daily, both DNS and the app that comes with Win 10. Months ago, I noticed that my dictation would go along 'as usual' for a sentence or two, and then just stop. First I checked my mic, using my spare one -- same results. Then I tried both applications, to make sure it wasn't a problem with the app -- same results. I starting looking for answers online, and while I found others who seem to be having the same problem, none of the solutions offered have worked. One I tried was this: I right click the speaker in the lower right corner> I choose "Recording Devices"> I double-click "Microphone"& choose the "Levels" Tab. And therein lies the problem: the 'levels' slide for my mic is at '0' and the icon of the mic has a 'red circle/line through it'... No matter WHAT I do, the slider will NOT stay put ... it always 'jumps' back to '0'. I've tried (as suggested by several) going to the "Advanced" tab & unchecking both of the 'Exclusive Mode' options, but it didn't help. Back to the 'Sound' tab .... someone said to highlight 'Microphone' and click 'Set Default'. I'd like to try that, but, unfortunately, my 'Set Default' button is grayed out ... can't do anything with it at all. HOWEVER ..... here's the confusing part ... at some point during all these months, it DID start working again, and I haven't the foggiest idea what happened to cause it to WORK -- and then, again now for it to STOP working.
The other major problem I'm having has nothing to do with DNS, but might help (someone??) identify my problem: I do a lot of recording from tape player to computer. I thought I had this one solved when I purchased a Behringer U-Control (UCA222). I was able to record several tapes, using this and the GOLDWAVE app; but now I can't seem to get anything to record. Even tried AUDACITY (in case it was a GOLDWAVE problem) but nothing works. Again, have played around with various sound settings with no luck at all.
You can tell, I'm way in over my head: I repeat, I have NO IDEA whether it's a NUC issue, an APP issue, a SETTINGS issue or WHAT. All I know is that when I had my big old CPU & was running XP, I had NONE of these problems at all! Ahh for the good old days

I got a very stupid Problem with Dragon legal 14. After paying a high ammount of Money for this Version the only Thing i get is a stupid CRC-Error while using the installer with integrated unpacker by Nuance. everything works fine except unpacking the Dragon 14.msi file. I tried downloading the installer several times with the same issue. Is there a trick or something or is the provided download-Version bugged?
I am thankfull for your help.

Hi all,
i am running dragon home edition 12.5
i keep getting the error message.
"push to talk hot key not installed it conflicts with a hot key installed by another application"
I have tried everything to get rid of it, to set it to a different key, but nothing works.
I have tried to disable it in the INI file, as per another post.
the problem still persists
any help would be appreciated

The problem:
When I use Dragon to dictate text directly into MS Word (w/o using the Dictation box) , the text is red color, italicized (and red underline), with a green highlight background (see image below).
Does anyone know how to just make Dragon enter text that is simple black text on a white background without any obvious formats?

I would like to see Dragon Naturally Speaking support Scrivener. Many writers use Scrivener writing stories, novels or screenplays. It is cumbersome to have to write in Microsoft Word then copy everything into Scrivener.

I am disabled and I use the Dragon for voice chat on my desktop and was wondering if
I can also use it on these two devices I will be purchasing shortly... A Apple iPod tablet
and the newer Kindle fire tablet . Is there a app from the Apple and Kindle store
that I can download easily? I want to be able to use it on my social media sites
and be able to do it from a tablet also.

I have DNS 12.5 Home. I got new laptop with Win 10. I put Dragon Phillips 13 Recorder software on it.
Now laptop won’t accept Home 12.5 install stating I have later version installed. How do I get both
installed. Thanks

I am using the new Dragon Professional Individual Version 15 and Microsoft Word 2010. Sometimes, when I am entering data into a Word table, it is easier to manually type numbers than to dictate. However, since upgrading to this version, I notice that when I manually type information into a table, while also at the same time being in dictation mode in Dragon (green microphone), the Word table starts to look corrupt. For example, part of the table might scroll up, but part of it doesn't scroll, and certain lines might appear twice. See attached for an example. If I simply scroll down, so that whatever appeared corrupt on the screen scrolls off, and then scroll back, the display is fine. So in other words, the problem seems to be with the display, rather than with the table itself. Is anyone else seeing this? Is there a better fix than constantly scrolling down and back? I wish I had known about this before upgrading, because whatever speed improvements there are, are lost by constantly having to scroll back and forth to clear the display.
