Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13.0 Premium stopped working in Windows 10

Hello dear Dragon Community, 

I hope you can help me.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13.0 Premium worked for me in Windows 10 for a few weeks. Then I didn't use it for approx. six weeks and now following happens:

It loads but the Nuance avatar does not rotate when I click on the microphone icon. In other words, it doesn't hear me.

I have Logitech loudspeakers in addition to my RealTec HD speakers on the same computer because the loudspeakers in my Dell computer have an awful booming sound.

The same setup worked with Dragon NaturalSpeaking 13.0 Premium before. What is suddenly wrong?

Right now I can't use Dragon at all.

My Dad's 84 and has his first computer, a Windows 8.1 laptop. To get him past his inability to type, he asked me to install Dragon Home 12, which I did. It updated itself during installation, and seemed to have completed normally.

He needed a little remote assistance to get started on the personalization training part but then was able to go through the process. Unfortunately he says he was still reading book passages over 30 minutes later.

I was not with him at the time he did it, so I can't say that he didn't miss an opportunity to skip some training and go straight to dictation. If not, and the training was all required, the length  seems unusual. How long should he expect the training to take?

I bought Dragon Naturally Speaking 11 in 2011, installed, registered and activated it on my laptop. I used it for about two weeks but then had to format my pc. I then re-installed it on the same machine, but could not go through the setup process as it keeps on givin an error message, "the sound level is too low, check whether the microphone is properly pluged in and the correct sound device". I tried recording my voice load enough for several times, but it does not detect it. Im using the Plantronics Calisto microphone. Can someone help me as to how do I setup this'

Dragon professional working over Remote Desktop

Hello, I have Dragon professional personal installed at my office. I connect via Remote Desktop to work. I get my microphone working and make telephone calls no problem, but Dragon does not recognize my microphone.

It says: Dragon is not receiving audio. Ensure that:

  • Remote Desktop software is set up to record.
  • The server computer is configured to receive dictation
  • Dragon medical, professional, or legal
  • your audio device is functioning properly.

I believe I have satisfied all those things, and like I said microphone works fine with other applications, but Dragon doesn't seem to recognize it.
 
There doesn't seem to be a folder named "Dragon Client For Remote Desktop" in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking15 of my pc.
 
Howshould i proceed?

I don't have a microphone hooked up, but I have my profile on my computer. I can't open the profile and perform a transcription from an audio file. I would like to be able to do that.

This must be some closely guarded state secret because I cant find what the latest version of Dragon Pro 15 should be. The update path thru the program gives me an error. I won't worry about it if I have the latest version. And Nuance wants to charge me to ask since I have had the product longer than 6 months.

I currently have version 15.00.000.076. Is there a later version?

Quite often when I finish dictating a sentence, the word 'will' appears on the screen even though I have not spoken it.  Is there a way to stop this happening?

Hi there.  New to Dragon.
I understand how to add a new word to Dragon's vocabulary, and I see that you can click the checkbox for the option to train Dragon on that new word.  However, I have not been able to find a way to train Dragon to understand my pronunciation of existing vocabulary words that it consistently fails to recognize. (For example, 'vocabulary' is always recognized as 'capillary' or 'Hillary'; 'release' is never recognized; 'consistently' comes out as 'consistency')

Is this functionality available and, if so, can someone tell me where?

Dragon doesn't work with Google Calendar (1 Comment)

Hi,

I'm using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 Premium. When I try to create an event in Google calendar, I'm able to dictate the text into the fields. However, when I save the event, no information is saved on the calendar. It just says something like "New Event, No Title."

I really need to start using Google Calendar more, and I need to use Dragon almost all the time. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did they fix it.

Nuance Download Manager won't download

After so many problems with Dragon for Mac I've decided to try using Dragon Home in Windows 10 running inside Parallels. I've purchased a copy, downloaded Nuance Download Manager, started it in Windows 10 with firewall and AV off on both Mac and PC but it won't download. It asks where the Dl location is, I click ok for its default choice and get a "Creating download " message but nothing happens. I click performance tab and there is no internet traffic up or downstream. 

Can't find any more settings to change and am now stuck. Does anyone know of a fix for this? I can't even find a technical support email!

I have installed dragon premium 11.5 on 5 computers and one of them died (hardware failure), I will replace the damaged computers with a new one, but I have a few questions about this:

1. I didnt get the chance to uninstall dragon on the damaged PC, so I guess its license slot is still occupied, correct? (among the 5 license slots)

2. So if I install dragon on a replacement PC, how can I activate it? Will Nuance treat it as the SIXTH computer and stop me from activating it? (machine fingerprint is different)

3. Will formatting my hard drive and re-installing dragon change my machine fingerprint?


The reason I installed dragon on 5 computers is because I'm researching dragon on different hardware setup for my report, I am the only user (more like tester).

cursor won't dictate to right spot, keeps jumping (2 Comments)

Everytime I speak dialogue into Microsoft Word, the cursor jumps to a specific spot in the document, far away from where I need to be, and it won't let me dictate speech anywhere else in the document! I want to write at the end of my thesis, but it jumps to the middle of a random sentence on another page whenever I dictate.

I am losing my  mind this with product.

I've tried restarting and shutting down.

I enjoy the program, and it works pretty well, but sometimes when I am dictating, and then I look closely for the cursor and find it is somewhere other than where I intended it to be. I called this my "roving cursor problem" and I wonder whether anybody else is experiencing a similar thing? I will be dictating, and suddenly the cursor will be in at the beginning of the document, were somewhere other than where it's supposed be., and I will have to move the cursor to the end of the document  , by voice,order to resume dictating.

 

 

with DNS 13 how do you easily indent a paragraph (2 Comments)

In DNS 13 premium, is there a way just to say indent paragraph to have it be indented as if you had clicked on indent paragraph? Right now I have to say click in the paragraph which does not work all the time. I thought there used to be a command called indent paragraph. I can see in the Command Browser there's a lot of ability to customize the indent but I just want to work simply

Is there a way to create a custom command to do this or is that only in professional.

I started out with DNS 12 on two Windows 7 system and 1 Windows 8.1.  DNS automatically upgraded to version 12.5.  I just bought and installed 13.  I use DNS to dictate legal documents.  These are very complex, and I must be very specific.  Every word counts and typos are frowned upon.

98% of my work is dictating to Microsoft office professional plus 2010.  Specifically, Word.

Unfortunately, I have a very consistent problem the prevails across my various systems and versions. My cursor will lose focus and jump randomly above or below where I am dictating.  It is not always possible to catch it.  I have seen that others have similar problems.  How do we fix this?

Is enormously frustrating, and sometimes pretty anti-productive.

I have tried a variety of microphones, and other configurations.  Generally, the equipment that I am using seems pretty good.  The real problem is the cursor jumping around.

 

 

 

 

 

Compatibility issue? Dragon (and computer) won't recognise Plantronics Voyager Legend headset

I am running Dragon Naturally Speaking v13 on my Windows 7 machine. Following advice on the Nuance website on recommended devices, I bought a Plantronics Voyager Legend UC. 

I cannot get my Bluetooth enabled computer to recognise this device.

I have emailed Plantronics support who have told me:

The Voyager Legend is a Bluetooth headset made for mobile phones and tablets and not compatible with computers. 

Can anyone help?

Selecting a language when installing Dragon version 11

When installing Dragon 11, Dragon uses the primary language for the product. An administrator cannot install Dragon using a language that is different than the primary language. For example, when installing Dragon 11 Professional English version, Dragon installs using English as the language of the user interface.

If an administrator attempts to use the /l option with setup.exe to install Dragon 11 using a non-primary language, the installation process ignores the /l option.

Thank you, so the new feature of the updated product, if you want to pay for it, will give you less  and prevent you to change the user interface. If you have English installed and install Spanish over that, it will mercilessly overwrite the user interface language to Spanish with no remedy. Have to uninstall everything and start from Spanish and then add English .

Also - having Professional installed and trying to install additional Premium language to Professional will result in error - have to remove everything first. I hoped it will retain the Pro version of the first installation or give me the option to downgrade to Premium. But no - have to uninstall everything....

While working in MS Word I have encountered a small issue. When I tell Dragon to select a particular word it often brings up several options. If so, if I say "Choose n", the word with that corresponding number will be selected, just like it is supposed to. However, if I say "Choose all" Dragon actually types "choose all"
