Corel just released WordPerfect X8. It does not work with DNS v14, in that you cannot dictate directly into WPX8, The same thing happened with WPX7. Does anybody have a way to make it work or will we have to wait for Nuance to release an upgrade or patch?

Bug: Track Changes is momentarily activated in Microsoft Word 2013 when I dictate Open Quote or Close Quote. The quotation marks end up as tracked edits, but not the words between them. The Track Changes feature is turned off when this happens. (Image attached below shows what I get when I try to dictate "Leading" .)
Different bug when Track Changes is turned on: The insertion point moves to the left of the opening quotation mark after I dictate Open Quote. The words I dictate, that are supposed to appear between the quotation marks, instead appear outside of quotes, followed by an empty pair of quotes. Example:
He said, No.” “
Instead of the desired:
He said, "No."

Dragon 12.5. Win 10
I use Dragon everyday. (Graduate School). Occasionally I get the message that I cannot save the profile because the tb folder already exists. Happens at random and I would have to restore a backup copy. I learned to save a backup each time.
Recently discovered that if I just delete the folder, everything works again, without restoring to the backup, which takes time.
Here is the folder that I delete
c:\programdata\nuance\naturallspeaking12\users\[insert user name here]\tb

I hope everyone doesn't have the same problems with nuance that I do. I own PaperPort and every version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking since I got hurt and became a quadriplegic. I think that was version 11. Here's what I found through all the years.
1. Support is absolutely terrible, they don't even seem to know their own product. I have found another forum on the web that is far more knowledgeable about their product than they are.
2. Every version of naturally speaking seems to get worse and worse. I find that 13 and 14 will wake up when anybody's talking. This can be a real nightmare for a quadriplegic. I had to buy 14 because I purchased office 2016. Spent hours on the phone with support trying to get office to work. They finally got it to work on everything but outlook. I got rid of it including office 2016. That's a mighty expensive paperweight.
3. Their policy of 2 licenses per CD with no exceptions is ridiculous. I have Dragon 13 in my laptop and my home computer. My hard drive crashed. I replaced it and Dragon said the serial number had been used too many times. I called Nuance their basic reply was "too bad so sad, but we can give you a discount when you buy another copy. Now Microsoft is the king cancel of licensing and yet they can be called and are empathetic. Usually taking care of the problem and no cost. Norton allows you to go online and activate and deactivate what computers are using their product. If that's not a great idea.
4. I also use PaperPort 14. If you're using Windows 10 I think we all know about it going in the compatibility mode and having to modify the registry to get it to work. Mine usually does this about every 5 to 6 months. Of course I don't remember how to do it have to go online and find the solution. Should Nuance have fixed this problem by now. You betcha!
I wish someone like Google would come out with the program. Their telephone program recognizes every word I say with very few errors. It amazes me how easy it is to use and how accurate. Unfortunately being a quadriplegic I am stuck with simply speaking. Just letting off some steam…

Hello! I have been using using dragon naturally speaking for the past many years, and for the past many months have been using version 13. This version works well with office 2010. However, recently our office systems migrated to office 365 and Outlook 2013 has now been installed on my PC. I am unable to get Dragon commands for the outlook 2013 ribbons to work. For example, while dictating out my email previously, if I needed to change the importance level of the message I would say "click high importance". If I needed my signature to be added I would say "click signature". However now when I give these commands nothing happens. I am not sure what is happening. Could someone please help?

Installation went fine till I had to put in activation code but I can't find it!!!
It's not on the DVD. Don't have cover...
How can I retrieve my activation code???

Firefox is preventing the Dragon extension from installing on MAC 10.11 El Capitan.
Says it prevented installing an unsigned extension.
I've gone through the about:config to change the defaults but a few days later I'm prompted to install the extension again and I have the same issue.

When I use Dragon to try and rename files; I use the mouse to select a file, then say "rename it", Dragon selects the name of the file AND T'HE DOT before the extension. If I say "period"after the new name, it adds a period and a space. So oldname.tif becomes newnametif or newname. tif, neither are the same as newname.tif
Either way, the file extension is changed, so it no longer matches other files of that type.The choice is to have no dot, and therefore no extension, or to have a space before the extension, so it doesn't match the proper extension.
Is there a way around this? Also, is there a "proper" way to end the rename command other than clicking the next file?

I am using Dragon 13 and it used to be that when I started talking in a text field inside an unsupported application, that the dictation box would be brought up automatically as stated in the user guide.
"Using Dictation Box in unsupported applications
The Dictation Box opens automatically if Dragon notices that you are trying to dictate in an
unsupported application or window within an unsupported application."
However, this feature has ceased to work, and I cannot figure out why. The dictation box will still pop up by saying show dictation box or manually bringing it up. The dictation box setting under tools > options > miscellaneous is checked as well. Any help is appreciated!

OK, I am having a problem that has reoccurred. Dragon Naturally Speaking Professional 13. I will say something like:
"Their way"
and Dragon interprets it as
"There weigh"
I say "correct that" and the correction window pops up with "Their way" as option #1.
I say, "Choose 1" and Dragon selects it and goes on its merry way. I do a lot more recording. Eventually, I hit a point where Dragon doesn't know what I was trying to say, and I must type in the proper word(s) until Dragon offers me the proper solution as option #1, and I say, "Choose 1) and Dragon inserts it and we go along happily until my next correction. At that point, something bad is happening -- Dragon is somehow locked into some kind of spell mode for correction. For example:
1. I say "Their way"
2. Dragon types "There weigh"
3. I say "Correct that"
4. Dragon opens the correction window with "Their way" as the first option.
5. I say "Choose 1"
6. Dragon now offers me as the solution "201" and the prior solutions are gone.
7. No matter WHAT I say from that point on, if the correction window is open, it is assuming I am SPELLING out something VERBALLY. Even though it is asking me to say "Choose X" the second I say "Choose X" it is trying to parse out the LETTERS I am saying. I can close Dragon. Close Word. Reboot my PC. When I came back in and am using Dragon, when I go to correct something, the correction window REFUSES to accept "Choose X" as anything other than me attemmpting to spell out what I want it to type.
This has now happened twice. The previous time I had to delete my user profile and start brand new.
I'd like to avoid that. Also, I am CERTAIN that it is not the fact that Dragon does not know how I say "Choose one" because when I say "Choose one" in the dictation mode, it types out "Choose one" into Word just fine just fine.
How do I tell the correction window I am issuing a command and NOT verbally spelling out my solution???

I have used several versions of DNS throughout the past few decades but my use has been both sporadic and limited to times when the backlog of my notes has become such that dictating them into useable digital format becomes necessary. As I've upgraded through past versions of DNS, the program has become more and more accurate while requiring less and less training. When I upgraded from 11 to 13 recently, I was amazed at how accurate the program has become! Right out of the box, for all intents and purposes, it was 100% accurate. The Program Manager initially featured a message where it recommended I upgrade to DNS Individual Professional. My immediate thought was that the version I have is already so good, why should I upgrade?! Thanks for a product so good that I can't foresee the need for a further upgrade!

When using Word I can use the bold feature, but I do not see how to turn it off, like with "Caps off". The subsequent dictation is in bold. I have tried various iterations, but no luck. Thank you.

I keep having Flexnet problems, and I cannot use it reliably to download updates to DNS 14. I typically get a message about the agent not installing properly, and it locks me out. I know there are several updates since I installed DNS 14, but I cannot find where they might be available on the Nuance website. Does anyone know how to get them without using Flexnet?

My question is how much more accurate is Dragon Professional Individual compared with what I have does anybody know
And another question is will they be bringing out an app for windows 10 phones

I am using Dragon Professional 14 on Windows 10 Pro.
I have an issues with words missing while dictating, chunks of words and then words being misrecognized when they are clearly spoken. I am using a Yeti Blue Microphone.
Any ideas? Is Dragon going to come out with a Patch for this?

I have used the repair function twice, the modify function once, and I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled Dragon 12 once and the "Check for updates" function does nothing.
I have disabled my virus checker, I've disabled my firewall and updater does not show any sign of life.
I am certainly logged in as an administrator. I suppose I could look at my router, but I know that the updater has worked in the past.
I am using XP SP3.
So, what do I do now.

I have tried to switch to a new Dragon Bluetooth mono headset on two different computers, one a desktop and one a laptop (Surface Pro 3 - new). I have gone through the pairing instructions three times and it seems that the dongle and the headset are paired. When I open Dragon Naturally Speaking most recent version (I've used it for 8 years on multiple computers) it opens a microphone dialogue. At the first screen as I start to read I get the "volume too low" message and can't go further. Dragon works fine with a wired headset, I have checked the volume on both computers and they are fine. The laptop does have its own internal microphone and I have not disabled that mic. But the desktop does not. Any suggestions?

I download the exe file but when I double click on it the download manager runs but only returns an error of "cannot open metafile". Since I haven't even reached first base on the install it is getting fairly frustrating.
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. We do have the "Constant Guard (aka Norton) that Comcast provides as the security software on the system.
Anyone know how to get this thing to run properly?

About 10 days ago I received an automatic upgrade to Microsoft Office since my university apparently upgraded its site license to office 2016.
My DNS 13 works fine with Word 2016 but does not connect directly to Outlook 2016, which for me is a major problem. I tried removing the Outlook DNS Add-in and then reinstalling it by adding it back but I get an error message about dgnouttlook.dll not being valid.
I then tried re-registering that DLL but that didn't help either.
Does anyone know how to get the DNS 13 Outlook add-in to work with Outlook 2016?
